The line of descent is from an Ancestry family tree and seems to be a bit questionable - particularly in how the Spencers found in Virginia are part of the family in Connecticut.

Another birth date of 6 Sep 1641, Hartford Co, CT is seen - he would have been just under 19 at his marriage. This database has the same parents for Thomas. And makes the same "jump" to Virginia - quite possibly copied Ancestry trees. And this database is even more confused and confusing.

Thomas and Esther did have a son Thomas, born about 1670, who died 22 Aug 1692.
