Land Office Treasury Warrant #211 ...to the Surveyor of any county within the Commonwealth of Virginia. [very faint and faded and hopefully have transcribed correctly]. To Martin Ashbey. 103 acres of land in consideration of the sum of 81#'s 3 sh. the fifteenth Day of October, 1779.
On the back: For value received assign to Reuben Proctor, the 8th of December, 178?. [Hole in the warrant where the Signature should be.]
For value Received I assign the within mentioned warrant to Michael Shirly as witness my hand this 9th day of September 1781. Signed: Reuben Proctor. Test: Wm Mitchell

On waters of Muddy Creek adjoining James Barbours Settlement on the West, Robert Flemings preemption on the East and a 569 acres survey of said Shirley's on the North. [South was Muddy Creek according to the plat sketch] Begin NE corner of 569 acres survey and red oak tree marked M.S. and two hickory trees standing in Barbour's Settlement line on the bank of a branch of Muddy Creek; running with Barbours line; Flemings line; Shirley's line. Madison Co KY Court Orders, Book B: 7 Jul 1796: John Bowman and Elijah Bowman were two of the commissioners ordered to view a way for a road from Archibald Woods mill seat on Muddy Creek to intersect the Muddy Creek road near William Goodlows.
