Noel Wood
Noel Wood, 62, of 8016 Mercier, died Sunday at Docors' Hospital. He was born in Van Buren, Ark., and lived here most of his life. He was a security officer at the Airport Holiday Inn, and formerly was a bus driver for several companies before retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Gate City Masonic Lodge and the Ararat Shrine. He was a Baptist. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruby Wood of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Stevens, 10908 W. 72nd Terrace, Shawnee, and Mrs. Verna Nepote, 12104 W. 68th, Shawnee; four brothers, Lawrence Wood, Los Angeles; Raymond Wood, Van Buren; Estel Wood, Bentonville, Ark., and Dewey Wood, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Harvey, 1206 W. 21st, and Mrs. Elsie Hayes, Van Buren; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 11 am Thursday at the Newcomer Brush Creek Chapel; burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the chapel.
