Individual Details
William Chamberlin
(Mar 1689 - 31 Oct 1756)
William Chamberlain of Hebron and his brother John Chamberlain of Colchester made bond to administer the estate of their father, William Chamberlain of Colchester on 11 Mar 1756. Along with his mother Sarah Chamberlain and brothers Jehu, Nathaniel, & Joel sold to their brother Ebenezer of Heborn land where Ebenezer lived in Hebron, 15 Nov 1757.
William’s gravestone record gives his date of death as 30 Oct 1756 in his 67th year, but the town records say 31 Oct 1755, aged 66 years. Since letters of administration on his estate were issued 11 Mar 1756, it would indicate the correct year to be 1755.
His son Peleg quitclaimed his share in the estate 8 Feb 1756/57 to the younger children. Transfers of property from William: Nov 1757 to Joel, Ebenezer, and Nathaniel. In 1758, Jehu received lands.
