Posted at findagrave.com: Paul Racey, 84, of Shelbina, MO, formerly of Arbela, MO, died October 14, 2003, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, MO. Mr. Racey was born in Arbela, Scotland County, MO, on September 20, 1919, the son of Glen Arnold and Lillie Mae McPherson Racey. On February 22, 1942, he was united in marriage to Peggy Marie Foster in Memphis, MO. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2003. Paul is survived by four children, Connie S. Courtney of Memphis, MO, Steven F. Racey of Lancaster, MO, Sally J. Eggers of Columbia, MO, and Judy K. Wilcox of Monroe City, MO; seven grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Paul attended Fairview Elementary School and graduated from Granger High School, Granger, MO. Mr. Racey was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shelbina, MO, and was a member of the Shelbina Masonic Lodge. Paul served in the United States Air Force during World War II, where he was a Tech Sergeant. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Graveside Memorial Services were held at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, near Arbela, MO, October 18, 2003. Rev. Carol Blackwell officiated. Memorials may be made to Mt. Moriah Cemetery at Arbela, MO. Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, was in charge of services. Memphis Democrat, October 23, 2003
