New Castle News, New Castle, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, August 15, 1934, Page 4, Col. 5: Mrs. Carl S. Forkum. Former New Castle friends of Mrs. Carl S. Forkum of Los Angeles, cal., who will be remembered as Edith Jordan, will be grieved to learn of her death which occurred Sunday in the hospital at Los Angeles, according to word received by her mother-in-law, Ms. Ida Forkum, of the Almira home.

Details of her sudden demise are lacking, but it is known that she fell and broke her hip last week and passed away the next day.

Since the death, March 16, t;his year, of her husband, Carl S. Forkum, well known football star of years ago, Mrs. Forkum has been residing in Los Angeles, Ca., with her sister, Harriett Jordan, who is associated in religious work with Amy McPherson, well known evangelist. Besides Harriett, there survives another sister, Marguerite, and two children. A brother Harvey Jordan, resides in Cleveland.

The Jordan family was well known during their residence in New Castle about 25 years ago when Mrs. Forkum's father, Dr. Harvey Jordan, now deceased, was pastor of the First Presbyterian church, and the family lived on North Beaver and later, Grant street.
