After a short period of illness Mrs. Mary L. Munger Jordan, wife of Dr. H. S. Jordan, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, died suddenly yesterday morning at 6:45 o'clock. Although Mrs. Jordan had been in poor health for the past several years, and it was known she would never be entirely well again, death, nevertheless, was sudden and unexpected, having occurred at the Agnew sanitarium where she had been confined for two weeks.

Mrs. Jordan was 50 years of age, having been born August 26, 1858 at Beloit, Wis. She was born, reared and wedded in the same house. The marriage occurred more than twenty-nine years ago, on June 4, 1879.

Deceased is survived by her husband, Dr. H. S. Jordan, and four children: Mrs. C. S. Forkum of Pittsburg, Hattie Jordan, Marguerite and Harvey Jordan, Jr.; also a brother, E. L. Munger, of Beloit, and four sisters, Mrs. Nellie M. Swift of Adrian, Mich.; Mrs. Alice Heath and Mrs. Frank Woods, both of Colorado Springs, and Mrs. J. V. Smale of this city.

In the death of Mrs. Jordan, San Diego loses one of her most respected citizens. She was a most exemplary pastor's wife and was loved by all with whom she came in contact. With her husband she had resided in San Diego for three years and three months, and had won the respect and regard of many staunch friends.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, as word is being awaited from relatives in the east.
