Harvey Bryant Jordan

Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio, Friday, April 9, 1965, Page 47, Col. 4: U. S. Steel Executive Harvey Jordan Dead. Harvey B. Jordan, retired executive vice president at the U. S. Steel Corp & Wire Division here, died yesterday in Naples, Fla. He was 69.
Mr. Jordan started his career in the steel industry with the American Steel & Wire Division here in 1914. He began in the chemical laboratory. Through successive promotions, he became president of the division in 1950.
Mr. Jordan was named executive vice president-production for U.S. Steel in 1953, and served in this post until 1959.
Mr. Jordan was a former director of the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Cleveland Post of the American Ordnance Association, and had been a trustee and executive committee member of the YMCA.
He was a former director of the Ohio State Chamber of Commerce, a former trustee of Ohio University, a former director of the Pittsburgh YMCA and trustee of Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Lansing, Mich., Mr. Jordan later lived in New Castle, Pa., and subsequently in San Diego, Calif. He was orphaned at 14.
He was graduated from schools in Everett, Pa.; attended Penn State College and was graduated from Cleveland-Marshall Law School.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Mrs. John A. Hubbard; two stepsons, William W. and Henry B. Fuller, and six grandchildren. His first wife, the former Ethel J. Mullin, to whom he was married in 1919, died in 1940. He moved to Pittsburgh from Cleveland in 1953 and to Florida in 1960.
Services will be in the First Presbyterian Church, Naples, at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Burial and memorial services will be in Knollwood Cemetery chapel here at 2 p.m. Monday.
