Houston Chronicle, Houston, Texas, May 8, 2012: Edna Victoria Berthe Dix of Huntsville, Texas went to be with her Lord on May 5, 2012. Edna was born Mar 17, 1917, in Houston, Texas, daughter of Edward Jackson & Mary Sarah Jane Waldrop Berthe. On Feb 6, 1942, Edna married James Dix and happily celebrated their marriage of seventy years with their family. She was preceded in death by her sons Edward Frank Sloan, James Ernest Dix and Walter Eugene Dix. Edna leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, James Dix, and daughter, Leaila Criste Dix Wells. Services will be Wed, May 9, 2012 at First Christian Church, Huntsville, Texas with Rev. Kyle Dennis officiating. Visitation will be Tues, May 8, 2012 6-8 pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: First Christian Church, 1800 Ave R, Huntsville, Texas 77340.
