George-Ann "Annie" Kirkpatrick

George-Ann Kirkpatrick, sometimes called George-Annie, was born 12 July 1864 and died 6 January 1948. She married 20 October 1886 to John Davis Sanders, son of Andrew and Sarah Jane (Holiday) Sanders. He was born 1 May 1859 and died 3 September 1928. Both are buried in the Union Cemetery, Richburg, Chester County, South Carolina.
There were eight (8) children born of the marriage.

Chester, Jan. 6---(Special)---Mrs. Annie Kirkpatrick Sanders, 83, widow of John Davidson [Davis] Sanders, died at 4 o'clock this afternoon at her home at 122 Lancaster street. Mrs. Sanders, a native of Chester county, was born July 12, 1864, a daughter of the late George Washing and the late Sarah Anne Shealy Kirkpatrick. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist church and took a wide interest in all of its activities. Mr. Sanders died in September 1828 [1928]. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Sallie Sanders of Chester and Mrs.C. M. Wallace of Gastonia, N. C.; four sons, Joe H. Sanders, superintendent of the Springsteen mills unit of the Springs cotton mills at Chester and William K. Sanders, also of Chester, J. Robert Sanders of Great Falls and George A. Sanders of Ashland, Ala., and seven grandchildren. She was the last member of her family. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o'clock Thursday morning from the home by the Rev. Broadus E. Wall, pastor of the First Baptist church, assisted by the Rev. Fritz C. Beach, pastor of the Bethel Methodist church. Interment will be make in Union cemetery at Richburg in Chester county.
