Sarah Ellen "Nellie" Gunsaulis was born 12 July 1878 and died 16 July 1952 in Wisconsin. She was the fourth child of William Wesley and Frances (Kirkpatrick) Gunsaulis. She married Hiram Jeptha Carpenter on 27 August 1895. He was born in 1870 and died in 1941. They are buried in the Kirkpatrick Cemetery in Rewey, Wisconsin.

There were eight (8) children born of the marriage.
