The Urbana Daily Courier, Urban, Illinois, Thursday Evening, May 12, 1932, Front Page, Col. 7: Mahomet, Ill., May 12--(Special to The Courier)---Rev. Charles Robert Morrison, retired minister of the Episcopal church, passed away at 3:30 this morning at his home here. The deceased, a son of Robert and Alvira Gillham Morrison, of Scotch ancestry, was born near Naples, Ill., on November 27, 1852. In 1854 he moved with his parents to a farm seven miles southeast of Jacksonville, where with five brothers and two sisters grew to manhood. Each of the brothers was graduated from the Illinois college, the deceased being valedictorian of the class of 1875 of the same institution. In 1880 Mr. Morris received his master's degree. In 1878 and 1879 he attended Garrett Biblical Institute, and joined the Illinois Methodist conference in Sept. 1879. He was retired in 1921. In 1882 he was united in marriage to Margaret Rees of Jacksonville, daughter of Dr. Edwin Rees and Margaret Posey Rees, and to them six children were born, Dorothy, Helen and Margaret preceeding (sic) him in death The survivors are: Albert W. of Mahomet; Paul E. of Qunicy and Robert R. of Springfield; of the brothers and sisters, only one sister, Mrs. Josephine Pierson of Farragut, Ia., survives. Mr. Morrison served as pastor of the following churches: Waverly circuit, Bluff Springs; Maroa, Newman, Hoopeston, Griggsville circuit; Payson, Mahomet, Lincoln circuit, St. Joseph, Brooklyn church, Jacksonville, Harristown, Oakland, Downs, Chestnut and Savoy. The funeral services will be held at the M. E. church, Mahomet, at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, Rev. C. D. Robertson the pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in Riverside cemetery.
