Alvira Adelaide Gillham was born 21 May 1821 at her parents' homestead four miles north of Winchester, Illinois. She died at Shenandoah, Fremont County, Iowa 21 April 1885. She married Robert Morrison who was the son of John and Mary (McCorkle) Morrison. He was born 12 December 1811 at Bath City in Greenbriar County, West Virginia and died at Shennandoah, Iowa, 27 June 1889. He and Alvira Adelaide were married 8 December 1836 in Scott County, Illinois, at the home of her father. The Morrisons were Methodists and are buried in the Locust Grove Cemetery some fourteen miles south of Shennandoah, Iowa. Mr. Morrison was a merchant.
