The Urbana Daily Courier, Urbana, Illinois, February 21, 1935: Mrs. Morrison Dies In Quincy. Mahomet Woman Ill Five Weeks; Funeral to Be Saturday. Mahomet---Mrs. C. R. Morrison of Mahomet died at 4:40 a.m., Thursday in the Blessing hospital in Quincy after an illness of five weeks. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, in the Mahomet Methodist church, Rev. C. D. Robertson will officiate and burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Morrison was born June 3, 1863m, near Jacksonville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Rees. Her mother was the granddaughter of Governor Posey, first governor of Indiana. She married Rev. C. R. Morrison Feb. 2, 1882. rev. Mr. Morrison died May 12, 1932. They had been residents of Mahomet since 1922, when they moved here from Savoy upon Rev. Mr. Morrison's retirement. Mrs. Morrison leaves three sons, Elbert W. Morrison of Mahomet, Paul E. Morrison of Quincy, and Robert Morrison of Springfield. She also leaves five grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist church, the D. A. R. the Eastern Star, and the Royal Neighbors.
