Violet Butler was born 3 or 8 August 1847 in Jefferson County, Iowa, and died January 1889 in Atlanta, Macon County, Missouri, where she is buried in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. She married 15 September 1867 in Macon, Missouri, to John B. Newmyer, who was born 1843 and died in 1912. He also is buried in the Mount Tabor Cemetery in Atlanta, Missouri.

There were four children born of the marriage.

A search of the newspapers for Macon Co., Missouri at the State Historical Society of Missouri web site, failed to locate an obituary for Violet Newmyer.
