Funeral services for Edwin J. Newmyer, 57, who died Tuesday at his residence, 1791 Lanier place, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Nevius funeral home, 924 New York avenue. Born in Lake, Mo., Mr. Newmyer received his early education there and came to Washington in 1900. He graduated from George Washington University Law School in 1906. Mr. Newmyer was actively identified with the Federal Employes' Union for the past 16 years. He became affiliated with the Federal Labor Union in 1916, which later was known as the Federal Employes' Union. In 1917 he was a delegate to the first convention of the National Federation of Federal Employes when he was elected secretary-treasurer, a position he held for five years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Agnes Leckie Newmyer, a daughter, Miss A. Stuart Newmyer, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Davisson of Atlanta, Mo., and Mrs. William Mohler of Pasadena, Calif.
