The Bonham Daily Favorite, Bonham, Texas, Monday, May 30, 1927, Page 3, Col. 5: After Years of Suffering Death Came Saturday. Mrs. J. K. Biggerstaff Died Peacefully And Was Buried Sunday At Gober. Mrs. Ella, wife of J. K. Biggerstaff, died Saturday evening at 7:35 at the family residence on West Seventh street. She had been an invalid for years, and had been seriously ill for months past. The family lived at Gober for many years, but Mr. and Mrs. Biggerstaff moved to Bonham a number of months ago in order that they might be near a physician. While here they lived the most of the time with their daughter, Mrs. Brant Smith. The remains were taken to the Gober cemetery for burial yesterday afternoon where, at 3:30, Eld. J. E. Black of the Central Church of Christ of this city conducted the funeral service. She had been a member of the church since she was fifteen. A very large concourse of friends from here and from Gober and other parts of the county were present. There were a great any beautiful floral offerings.
Mrs. Biggerstaff was the eldest daughter of the late J. M. Nevill and wife, and was born in Illinois on Nov. 13, 1866. Her parents moved to Texas soon after the late war between the States and settled at Gober where the family lived for many years. In 1885 she was married to J. K. Biggerstaff, a member of another old family of the Gober community. To them nine children were born, four of whom died in infancy. The other five are Sig Biggerstaff and Mrs. Bruce Smith of this city, Joe of Abilene, Ray and Mrs. Arthur Woodson of Gober. Besides the children she is survived by two sisters and two brothers, namely Dr. J. E. Nevill, Will H. Nevill and Mr. W. F. Biggerstaff of this city and Mrs R. Guy of Taylor. Dr. O. Nevill is a nephew. There are quite a number of other relatives.
