On the 1880 U. S. Census of Osage Mission, Neosho Co., Kansas, Hester M. Kirkpatrick, age 62, is in the household of her son, William A. Kirkpatrick.

On the 1900 U. S. Census of Venita, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, H. A. Kirkpatrick is listed with her son-in-law W. M. Hobbs and daughter N. J. This is not what most sources show, that she died in 1899 in Illinois.

Also on her daughter Nancy Jane's death certificate from Missouri, it states her mother's maiden name is Dye not Dial.
