Obituary from The Marysville Advocate, December 9, 1993, Page 8A: Darrell B. Shroyer, 84, Waterville, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 3, 1993, at the Cambridge Place nursing home. A graveside service was at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Marysville City Cemetery. The Rev. Susan Daniel of the Waterville United Methodist Church, officiated. Youngberg Funeral Home of Waterville was in charge. He was born March 20, 1909, in Marshall County, the son of Ferdinand and Effie Kirkpatrick Shroyer. He married Elenora Rosalie Schriefer Aug. 26, 1929, at Hiawatha. She died Jan. 27, 1992. He spent most of his life in Waterville, where he owned and operated a mechanic shop and also worked at Lamoreaux Building Co., before retiring. He then helped his wife run the Shroyer Ceramic Shop. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Waterville and he was also a Mason. Preceding him death were his parents; his wife Elenora in 1992, a son Duane Bernell Shroyer, in 1980; an infant daughter, Nola Shroyer, in 1932 and three sisters, Lova Berry, Vada Lueers and Irish [Iris] Johnson. Survivors are three grandchildren, Nancy Mann, Waterville, Dr. Duane B. Shroyer, Birmingham, Ala., and Lisa Nelson, Long Beach, Miss.; a daughter-in-law, Verna Shroyer Westerburg, Biloxi, Miss.; and four great-grandchildren.
