Buck, age 91, of Whitewater, died on Saturday afternoon, November 30, 1996 at the Fairhaven Residential Facility in Whitewater. She was born on December 8, 1904 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Lucy (Waters) Enloe. she married Elvin B. Buck on June 12, 1929 in the Little Brown Church of Vale in Nashua, Iowa. She was a member of the Congregation Church-United Church of Christ in Lancaster. She was a graduate of the Belmont Wisconsin High School. She received a BE degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a member of the WEA of Wisconsin, and a member of the D.A.R. She was the 1929 National Rural Teacher of the Year. She is survived by a son, Gerald(Nancy) Buck of Racine; a daughter, Barbara (Al) Raue of Horion; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; a brother, Newman (Ann) Buck of Lancaster; and a sister, Mildred Enloe of Fairhaven in Whitewater. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin; three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Christ United Church of Christ in Whitewater on Tuesday, December 3, 1996 with graveside services at Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 1996. Skindingsrude Funeral Home in Whitewater is assisting the family.
