Claudney was born July 16, 1911 to Dora and George Kirkpatrick in Benton, IL. Claudney and her family moved to the Valley of the Sun in 1918. She was a grocery clerk for over 25 yrs at Safeway and Carney's Market in Glendale. Claudney is survived by her devoted children Aletha Deuel and Myron (Joyce) Stevens; daughter-in-law Erma Lee; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Claude Stevens and their son Leldon and son-in-law Leroy Deuel. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 4, 2009 at 10:00 am at Glendale Light and Life Church, 6331 W. Lamar Rd., Glendale, AZ. Burial will follow at 12:00 pm at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Rd. Phoenix, AZ. A reception will follow at the church.
