Henry Lee Yongue was born 25 July 1909. On 27 August 1940 he married Elizabeth Annie Steedly of Bamberg, Bamberg County, South Carolina. She died 31 August 1978, and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Fort Lawn, Chester County, South Carolina.
There were three (3) children born of the marriage.
The State, Columbia, South Carolina, Sunday, August 18, 1991, Page 13, Col. 1: Services for Henry Lee Yongue Sr., 82, of 5427 Pinestraw Road, Columbia will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Northeast Presbyterian Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel. Memorials may be made to Ft. Lawn Presbyterian Church. Mr. Yongue died Friday. Born in Ft. Lawn he was a son of the late Neil Malone Sr. and Sallie Kirkpatrick Yongue. Retired from Fort Jackson, he was member of Eau Claire Masonic Lodge. He was an elder emeritus of Covenant Presbyterian Church and current member of Northeast Presbyterian Church. Surviving are three sons, Henry Yongue Jr. of Jonesboro, Ga., John Yongue of Reidsville, N. C. and Charles Yongue of Raleigh, N. C.; brothers P. Gladney Yongue of Fort Lawn and N. Malone Yongue of Surfside Beach; and sisters, Hattie Edwards and Louise Carpenter, both of Fort Lawn.
