The State, Columbia, South Carolina, Tuesday, May 6, 1947, Page 3, Col. 3: Chester, May 5---(special)---Neal [Neil] Malone Yongue, 66, retired Chester County R. F. D. carrier, died this morning at his home in the Fort Lawn Section of Chester county, following a prolonged illness. Mr. Yongue recently retired after having served his route for 30 years. He took a great interest in the work of the Chester-Fairfield Letter Carrier association, the Fifth District Rural Letter Carriers association and the state and national associations. Mr. Yongue is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sallie Kirkpatrick Yongue; four sons, and two daughters, Henry Lee Yongue of Columbia, Clarence Yongue, Gladys Yongue, Neal [Neil] Malone Yongue, Jr., and Mrs. L. G. Edwards all of Fort Lawn and Mrs. Carroll Carpenter of Lewis Turnout; one sister, Mrs. Henry Jones of Florida, and one brother, Clarance Yongue of Brevard, N. C. Mr. Yongue was a member of the Presbyterian church at Fort Lawn. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning from the Fort Lawn Presbyterian church. Interment will follow in Elmwood cemetery at Fort Lawn.
