The Tuscaloosa News, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, July 17, 1990, Page 6 A: Ellis Erwin Creitz, 82 of 13976 Old Greensboro Road, died July 16, 1990 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Creitz was retired from the U.S. Bureau of Mines. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Philippines and in Australia. He is listed in "Who's Who in the South and Southeast" and in "American Men of Science." He also was a founding member of Southeastern Spectrographic Society. He was married to the former Grace Norris of Tuscaloosa County. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Elder Glenn Payne and the Rev. John Creitz will officiate with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Thomas, Tuscaloosa, Judith Ducharme, Albuquerque, N.M., and Lula Todd, Houston, Texas; two sons, the Rev. John Creitz, Tallassee, and Rand Ellis Creitz, Tuscaloosa; three sisters, Vera Brown, Englewood, Colo., Marion Sankot, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Eleanor Creitz, Wisconsin; two brothers, Carroll Creitz, Maryland, and Lewis Creitz, Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and other relatives. Family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
