Posted at Find-A-Grave.com: AUSTIN -- A graveside service will be held for Irene C. Kirkpatrick at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Oakland, Minn. Mrs. Kirkpatrick, 88, of Elgin, Ore., formerly of Austin, died Wednesday (July 26, 2000) at Grande Ronde Hospital. Irene C. Hays was born Feb. 14, 1912, in Austin. She married Homer Kirkpatrick in 1937 and they moved to the Grande Ronde Valley in Oregon in 1950. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a past member of Presbyterian churches in La Grande, Ore., and Austin. She enjoyed gardening, reading and camping. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Veach of Los Angeles and Ruth Alma of Pendleton, Ore; a son, John of Elgin, Ore., and five grandchildren. Worlein Funeral Home in Austin is in charge of arrangements.
