The Observer, La Grande, Oregon, Sunday, February 26, 2006: John Carey Kirkpatrick, 58, of Elgin, died Thursday, Feb. 16 at his home. No services will be held at this time. Burial will be held in Oakland, Minn. Arrangements are with Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born on April 28, 1947, the son of Homer and Irene (Hayes) Kirkpatrick in Austin, Minn. John and his family moved to La Grande where he attended school and later graduated from La Grande High School. He was employed with Boise Cascade and worked in Elgin. Mr. Kirkpatrick enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hunting. Survivors include his sisters, Carol Veach of Los Angeles, Ruth Alma of Pendleton and other relatives. His parents died earlier. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 Seventh St., La Grande 97850.
