David Hardman, 64, of 42 Rosebud Ave., retired caretaker of Hudson Avenue School, died at 7:40 a.m. Monday in Newark Hospital. He had been seriously ill two weeks and a patient in the hospital since April 30.
Born April 17, 1890, in Montreal, Canada, he was the son of the late Thomas and Alice (Dorsey) Hardman, and came to Newark 32 years ago from Newark, N.J. He had been retired three years and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Newark Lodge of Eagles.
Three children survive: Mrs. John Whittier of Kansas City, Kans., David W. Hardman of Akron and Mrs. James Kelly of the home here; also nine grandchildren. He was the last of his family.
The body is at the Gutliph & Henderson Funeral Home and the Rev. Thomas P. Simpson will officiate at services there at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be made in Jacksontown Cemetery.
