James Hardman, 71, former Newark resident and a retired employe of the Standard Oil Co. died Thursday at noon of a heart attack in Lake Worth, Fla.
He took employment with the oil company in Newark and later was an agent in Athens County, and retired after 35 years of service.
A native of Lincolnshire, England, he was the son of Thomas and Alice (Hammer) Hardman. He had resided in Florida since 1944, and is survived by two sons, James Hardman of Zanesville and Charles Hardman of Wheeling, W. Va.; also three grandchildren; one brother, David Hardman of Newark.
A member of the Quarter Century Club of the Standard Oil Co.k Mr. Hardman was also a member of the F&AM Lodge of Crawford, N.J.
The body will be received at the Gutliph & Henderson Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
