Jonathan HUNT

Jonathan, "2nd son", b. ca. 1717; removed to Rowan Co., North Carolina among the early settlers there; had three wives and 19 children before his death in North Carolina in 1783. He was a Patriot of considerable importance in North Carolina, served in French and Indian War and Rev. War, having the rank of Col. in the NC Militia. (Details on Jonathan and his family need not be stated here; Mrs. Beverly Yount of Indiana published in 1956 a magnificent genealogy of Jonathan Hunt and his descendants containing some 219 pages.) (I now have a much more complete genealogy of the children of Col. Jonathan by his three wives; (1) Mary Smith, (2) Isabel Hampton; (3) Margaret Lawrence.
