Know All Men By These Presents:That I Lizzie B Knox, a widow woman of the City of Cherokee, County of Cherokee and State of Iowa. realizing the uncertainty in human existence and being desirous of making a disposition of my property while still strong in mind and body do make this instrument for and as my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking any all Wills heretofore by me made.
I. I direct there shall be first paid out of my estate all my just debts, if any there be, including the expense of my sickness and burial.
II. I hereby will devise and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Knox the sum of Six Thousand Dollars ($6000.00) to be her property absolutely.
III. I hereby will, devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ferrin the sum o Three Thousand Dollars ($3000.00) to be her property absolutely.
IV. I hereby will, devise and bequeath to my seven grandchildren, to-wit: Boyd Knox, Catherine Knox, Harriet Knox and Mary Alice Knox, children of my son Alexander B Knox, and Edith Knox and Betty Knox, children of my son Robert Knox, and Joseph L Ferrin, son of my daughter Mary Ferrin, each of said grandchildren Five Hundred Dollars ($500), the same , however, to be held by the executors of this Will until each of said grandchildren arrive at the age of Twenty (20) years, add the same to be placed on interest and interest added to the principal, and paid with the principal to said grandchildren when they reach the age of twenty (20) years, and in the event now there should by any other grandchildren born after the execution of this instrument and before my death, said grandchild or grandchildren as the case may be, shall also be entitled to Five Hundred Dollars ($500), each to be held by the executors named in the will until said child or children become twenty (20) years of age.
VII. I further will, devise and bequeath to the Local Home Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church Society of Cherokee, Iowa, the sum of Three Hundred ($300) to be held by saidd society as an Endowment thereto, they to place the same on interest and to use the interest in the cause but the principal to remain intact.
VIII. I hereby will devise and bequeath to the Presbyterian Church Society of Cherokee Iowa, the sum of Two Hundred dollars ($200) to be usd toward the purchase of a parsonage for the minister, conditional, however, that a parsonage be not built during my lifetime.
