Joseph Rittenhouse Goheen, a former resident of Centre county, died at his home in Peoria, Kan., on March 26th, of general infirmities. He was a son of David and Elizabeth Goheen and was born at Alexandria, Huntingdon county, on September 10th, 1841, hence was in his 88th year. When he was a boy his parents moved to Pine Grove Mills where he grew to manhood.
When but twenty years old he enlisted for service in the Civil war, and made an excellent soldier. After the war he went west and located at Fort Scott, Kan. He is survived by his second wife four sons, one daughter and a brother, all in the west. Burial was made on March 29th.
