Death
Obituary: Roy Goheen- Roy R. Goheen, 76, Joplin route 4, died at 1:30 am Saturday at Oak Hill Hospital after a lengthy illness.Mr Goheen was born april 22, 1906, in Joplin and was a lifetime resident here. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, and worked at carpentry and masonry. He also had worked for Gateway Creamery, Joplin Transfer and Campbell 66 truck lines, retiring in 1960.
He Married Panzie Jameson on Oct. 4, 1928, in Joplin. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert R. Goheen, Joplin; a daughter, Plina Gibbs, Joplin; a brother, Harry Goheen, Joplin; a sister, Oleta Williams, Eugene, Ore.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm Monday at Mason-Woodard Funeral Home chapel, with Walter H. Swetham officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Isley, Jim Isley, Robbie Goheen, Ed Letts, Jerry Nickerson and Basil Cogbill.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm today at the mortuary.
