Death
Obituary: John Goheen - A funeral service for John Goheen, 1225 M St was held Monday afternoon, April 10 in the Chapel of the First at Sutherlin, Pastor B J. Bradley of Wayside Chapel in Springfield officiated. Interment followed in the Veterans Cemetery at Roseburg.Mr. Goheen died April 6 in the Roseburg Veterans Hospital at the age of 57.
He was born Oct 8, 1920 in Joplin, Mo. and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Joplin.
A resident of Springfield for the past 20 years, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as an airplane mechanic, and was formerly employed as a heavy equipment operator.
Surviving are his wife Nadine, whom he married April 4, 1942 in Joplin: four daughters Mena Goheen at home, Johna McMahon of Springfield, Sandra Kingore of Joplin and Connie Isley of Joplin; seven grandchildren: a sister Oleta Williams of Springfield two brothers, Harry and Roy both of Joplin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
