Notes
Birth
dated 10 June 1762: "Daniel Doughery, alias Simpson, bought a mare of Robert Jones, and borrowed a saddle from James Goheen, but Daniel has since absconded, without paying for the mare. He is formerly from Wilmington." The next generation James would only be 10 years old and this indicates an earlier male names JamesReligion
Both Ann Hughs and James Goheen rented the same church pew. Vestry RecordsJames purchased pew #25 in 1756 and held it in 1781. James Jr holds the pew from 1795 until 1796, then Hugh in 1799 and 1800 and also in 1803, then from 1894 until 1832 when it was taken over by Miss Sidney Goheen. It is possible to assume these people are family

The children of James and Ann Hughes Goheen were documented in a now disintegrated bible (prayer book) as Marget, Mary, Hugh and an Illegible name thought to be James Jr. Considering the condition of the Bible it might be possible that other children existed, I. E. Anne is placed in this list based on evidence. It is also possible that Anne was the middle name of one of the other children of James and Ann.Religion
