LEBARON WILFORD COREY

(23 Nov 1856 - 9 Aug 1912)

He was twin to Wilford, and their middle names would appear to be a family joke. His brother was called "Wilford Lebaron" and he was called "Lebaron Wilford." See Wilford Lebaron Corey, above, for further confusion regarding these twins.

A grist mill had been established in Havelock at an early date and operated first by George Webb Price, then by William Keith. It was then sold to Lebaron.

Lebaron operated the grist mill in Havelock NB, but in 1912, "Mr. Corey met a tragic death in his mill, when his clothing caught in the wheel, and he was hurled to his death." After Lebaron's death "the mill was purchased by his brother Ottie Corey and son Roy. In 1932 this mill burned and was rebuilt by Roy, who operated it until his death in 1956. Since then the mill has stood idle."
