June 2, 1905 "Deacon Richard Thorne" On Sunday morning the residents of Havelock were shocked to hear of the sudden death of Deacon Richard Thorne of heart disease. He arose and took his breakfast with the family as usual, but for the last few days had not been feeling well. On Saturdays evening he drove to the village. On sunday morning he was suddenly taken ill. Dr. B. S. Thorne was summoned, but could do nothing. Deceased was seventy four years of age, was a son of the late Deacon Melancthon Thorne.
