Wilmont Brown of Havelock says that Charles Ermine "did carpentry work" in the Havelock area. Charles Ermine Ryder's obituary reads:

The death of Charles Ermine Ryder (84) occured at his home here this afternoon following a short illness. For many years a highly esteemed resident of this place, news of his sudden death was heard with profound regret by a large circle of friends. He was the son of the late Nathan and Mary Tolson Ryder."
