Individual Details

SAMUEL G. COREY

(30 Jul 1864 - 15 Dec 1932)

Samuel farmed in the Temperance Vale area of New Brunswick. There were no children to the marriage, and the 1891 and 1901 census returns show the family with no children. However, the 1901 census shows that Samuel and Eliza had taken in a "boarder" - a certain "Grant Sherman." This was William Grant Corey, son of his sister Nina Corey and her husband Grant Corey. The child was adopted by Samuel under the name Grant Sherman Corey, and this was later changed to Sherman Grant Corey, and he was called "Sherman."

Sherman's descendants will be found in this genealogy under this family, rather than the blood father, William Grant Corey. [Corey Book]
