JUDSON ALBERT COREY

(1 Aug 1870 - 2 Nov 1952)

As a young man Judson went to the United States, to the twin cities of Auburn and Lewiston, to pursue his education in preparation for the Christian ministry. By day he worked as a cobbler. At night he attended classes. In Maine he met Alice Howlett. She was also from New Brunswick, having immigrated there from England. Judson and Alice were married in Lewiston in 1899.

In 1910 Judson and family returned to New Brunswick and his home at Knowlesville, where he took up duties as Baptist minister in that community, and other churches in the circuit of Windsor and Biggar Ridge. While Judson was pastor of Knowlesville Church, an extensive renovation of the church building was undertaken, when gothic windows, and a steeple with bell were installed - all for the sum of about $1100.00!

Judson served in various New Brunswick ministries, including Rusogonis, Wilson's Beach, Hoyt, Macnaquac, Doaktown, and, Rusogonis again. [Corey Book]
