ROBERT BRUCE CARTER

(22 Nov 1900 - 8 Apr 1997)

Robert Bruce Carter came home from Bethel, Maine and in 1928 through 1929 built sport camps across the Kouchibouguac River from his family homestead. In August 1935 a big forest fire swept through the area, but the camps were never touched. Bruce later went to New York City for a short time, then came back and met Anna and were married and lived in Juniper, New Brunswick.

Found little writings in an old school book given to Dana C. Ryder by Robert Bruce Carter:

" The Thomas Graham house was destroyed by fire on June 7, 1921.

" Jim and Clifford Carter went to Rexton to work Friday Sept. 23, 1921.

" Mary Dwyer was married to Earl Haines the 25th of June 1921.

" Poem:
I know a boy he's such a swell
I have not, got the nerve to tell
His name is on the other side
I hope someday to be his bride
