His father's will says: "to my son Willim Rider my 60 acre lott at or near a place called Morey's Holes". He left Plymouth after receiving this legacy and further record of him is lacking. The records of his wife and ch. are taken from records of a William Rider, of Middletown, RI and of Newport, RI, which, from the similarity of names Nellie Rider believes is the same William. But proof that he moved from Cape Cod to RI is lacking. Similarly lacking is proof that from him the Rider's Mills branch of the fam. is descended, although this is a tradition in that branch.
