BIOGRAPHY: Elizabeth Link was born December 24, 1817, in Augusta Count y, Virgin ia. She was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, September 1 1, 1831. Later she married William M. Root, and they became the head s of an important and widely r espected Virginia family, many of who m live near their ancestral home. William M. Root was an extensive f armer. The Root home was near Fort Defiance and Mou nt Sidney.
