S he grew to womanhood in this co mmunity, obtaining a common school edu cation and being reared by Christian pare nts, was only taught the hig her principles of life and when she had a family of her own she trie d to instill in their minds the same principles by which she w as brou ght up, and one of her great desires was for her family to obtain goo d e ducations. At the age of 13 she united with the New Union Churc h of Christ und er the labors of Elder William Brothers and retained h er relations with the sam e congregation except a few years residenc e in Sullivan County, until her death . She never absented herself fr om worship on the first day of the week unless hindered in some way an d many times she could be found at her place in the chur ch when she d idn't feel able to go. But she had great faith in the passage of s cri pture which says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may s ee you r good works and glorify your father." What a consoling though t it is for her f amily to know that her last hour was spent in the wo rship of her master, whom s he had tried so faithfully to serve and t o admonish others to a more noble life , as she was yet in the house o f worship when suddenly called from labor to rew ard. On October 2, 18 86 she was united in marriage to Henry L. Easton, of this county. To t his union were born seven children, the oldest dying in infancy. T hos e left to mourn the loss of a mother are: Maragret Spear, of Morgan To wnship , Mary Edgerton, of Moss Bank, Canada, Martha Fisher of Spencer , Mina, Marie, a nd Robert, who are at home. Those left to mourn thei r loss are the husband, six children, two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Richard s of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Su san Christenberry of Findlay, Il linois. and one brother, A. E. Gaston, of Spenc er, besides a host o f neighbors and friends. But we mourn not as those without hope. Fune ral services were conducted from the home by Elder W. J. Brown, of L o uisville, Ky, and interment in New Hope Cemetery, Friday, July 13, 191 7. Thos e attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Homer Edgerton , of Mossbank, Cana da, Mrs. T. H.
