Link Gaston, a boss tim berman, at the Superior Coal Mines ea st of Dugger, met a horrible death last We dnesday afternoon about 2'o clock while being lowered into the mine in a large b ucket. Gaston ha d a miner's lamp on his cap which was lighted. Gas had accumula ted i n the mine and the blaze ignited the gas and an explosion followed. Th e ro pe attached to the bucket was burned into and Gaston fell to th e sump of the mi ne nearly 200 feet below. Death was almost instaniou s. Gaston's body was horri bly bruised. Gaston was about 35 years of a ge and leaves a wife and three child ren.
