He and Julia lived in Jackson Township when the y first married, then moved to Quincy where he operated the livery sta ble just north of the railroad and lived in the first house west of th e Masonic Hall. He traded the livery stable to Ott Raikes for an 80 a cre farm in the Millgrove neighborhood about 1901. In addition to hi s farming duties, he ran rig, a shredding rig and did custom baling wi th a stationary outfit. He was a member of the Millgrove Methodist Ch urch."
