Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, for Nick P. Hoppe Sr., 77, who died Thursday at St. Cloud Hospital.Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brenny Funeral Home and an hour before services Monday at the church in Albany. Parish prayers will be 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Albany, followed by St. Francis Catholic Aid Society at 7:30.
Nick Hoppe Sr. was born in New Munich to Gerard and Rosina (Moscho) Hoppe. He married Lillian Krupa on Nov. 21, 1944, in St. Francis. He was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Society of St. Francis. He farmed near Upsala for 17 years, retiring in 1994 and moving to Albany in 1997.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Marian Trettel of Hugo, Michelle Trettel of Lino Lakes, Nick Jr. of Elk River, and Glen of St. Joseph; two grandchildren; and brothers and sister, Benedict, Odillo, Jerome and Eugene of New Munich, and Emma Loecken of St. Martin.He was preceded in death by his sister, Agnes Wagner.
