St. Joseph - Mrs. Norber (Verena) Zierden, 84, 24 Second Ave SE, died Saturday at St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev Thomas Gillespie will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 pm Tuesday and after 10 am Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph.St. Joseph Council of Catholic Women and Senior Citizens will pray at 4 pm Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Joseph followed by parish prayers at 7, St. Joseph American Legion Auxiliary Post 328 at 7:30 and VFW Post 5773 Auxiliary at 8.
Verena Zierden was born Nov 17, 1906 in St. Wendel Township, Stearns County, to Phillip and Mary (Fladung) Nathan. She married Norbert Zierden Sept 7, 1926 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. She lived in the St. Joseph area all her life and was a member of St. Joseph Mission Group, Sacred Heart ..., St. Joseph Senior Citizens, Council of Catholic Women, VFW Post 5773 Auxiliary, St. Joseph American Legion Auxiliary Post 328 and St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir 36 years.
Survivors include daughters and son; Mrs. Thomas (Ethelinda) Keeler, Sauk Rapids; Cyril, Buffalo; Mrs. John (Anna Mae) Lansing, St. Cloud; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1987 and three brothers.
Pallbearers will be Steve Pfannenstein, Steven Wenner, Kevin Dickson, Richard Fouquette, Patrick Zierden and Loren Keeler.
