Nov 19, 2000 Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marty, for Irene Garding, 72, who died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight at Ertl Funeral Home, Watkins. Holy Cross Christian Women will pray a rosary at 7 tonight at the funeral home in Watkins, followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.
Irene Garding was born in Maine Prairie Township, Stearns County, to Henry and Anna (Klehr) Haus. She married Bernard Garding on May 31, 1949, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marty. The couple farmed in Maine Prairie Township all of their life. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was active with the Holy Cross Christian Women.
Survivors include her sons and daughters, Elmer, Virgil and Donna of St. Cloud, John, Joseph, and Renee of Kimball, Vernon of Sheridan, Wyo., Ann Eldred and Daniel of Luxemburg, Doris Goerger of St. Joseph, and Lisa Pauls of St. Nicholas; 25 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and brothers and sister, Adella Salzer of Cold Spring, Severin of St. Cloud, Virgil of Sun City, Ariz., and Cyril and Elmer of Marty.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999; and brothers, Eldred and Alvin.
