Funeral Services will 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2002 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas for Elmer J. Garding, age 52, of St. Cloud, who died Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital after short battle with leukemia. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Parish Cemetery in Pearl Lake. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Rockville Lions Club will pray at 6 p.m. followed by Vigil Prayers at 8 p.m. Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud made the arrangements.
Elmer was born January 1, 1950 in St. Cloud to Barney and Irene (Haus) Garding. He married Alberta Renzo on April 30, 1983 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph. He worked as a Brand Manager for Bernick's Beer Department over 36 years. He was a member of the Minnesota Beer Wholesalers Association, Rockville Lions Club, Rockville Sports-man's Club and many other organi-zations.
Surviving Elmer is his wife, of St. Cloud; his children, Joey (Bonnie) of Sartell, Margie and Jeron at home; his grandchildren, Bryce and Kylee; his brothers and sisters, John of Watkins, Virgil of St. Cloud, Vernon of Brainerd, Joseph of Kimball, Ann Eldred of St. Cloud, Renee Garding of Kimball, Donna Garding of St. Cloud, Doris Goerger of St. Joseph, Dan of Luxemburg, and Lisa Pauls of Watkins; and many nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
Elmer's family would like to express their deepest thanks to everyone at the St. Cloud Hospital 5th floor south for the physical and emotional support received while Elmer was in their care. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
