Peter Klapperich
Peter J. Klapperich, age 84, died June 2, 1982 at Melrose Hospital. He was born August 2, 1897 to Jacob and Appolonia Homburg Klapperich in New Munich, MN. Mr. Klapperich was a former business owner in Melrose and owned and operated Pete's Place in Villard from 1950 to 1965 when he retired. He moved back to Melrose in 1977 and had been a resident of Pine Villa Nursing Home for the last year.
He married Rose Weymann July 27, 1920 in Melrose. He was a former member of Melrose Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include sons, Ralph, Brainerd and Lloyd, Staunton, Virginia; daughters, Mrs. Al (Jeanette) Thelen, Melrose, Mrs. Roscoe (Bernice) Hatch, Seattle, Wash., and MRs. Al (Renee) Benoit, Lockport, New York; brother, William Klapperich, Sauk Centre; sisters, Mrs. Louise Hageman, St. Paul and Mrs. Wally Christine Peterson, Sauk Centre; 26 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, September 21, 1976 and by 4 sisters. Funeral services were held June 5, 1982 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's church, Melrose. Rev. Vincent Huebsch officiating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Crossbearer was Jill Klapperich. Book-bearer was Joan Klapperich. Active pallbearers were Neil and John Thelen, John, James and Julie Klapperich and Mrs. Barbara Hensch. Arrangements by Schad Funeral home, Melrose.
